The victim’s body was found on Sunday (28/5) evening in the Shahbad Dairy area in Rohini district, north New Delhi, where the incident took place.

On Monday (29/5) afternoon, the Indian Police announced the arrest of a male suspect named Sahil in connection with the ABG murder. Deputy Commissioner of Police for Outer Delhi, Ravi Kumar Singh, said that Sahil, who is a mechanic, was arrested in the Bulandshahr area, Uttar Pradesh state.

New Delhi Police Special Commissioner Deepandra Pathak told local media outlet Times Now that the initial investigation was leading to what it described as a ‘crime of lust’.

Police linked the victim and suspect romantically, or the two were allegedly in a romantic relationship, with the two having been known to have had an argument hours before the murder.
