16 West Flemish mayors jointly issue additional cor … (Interior)

Mayors of 16 cities and municipalities in West Flanders, Midwest region, have jointly issued additional corona measures. The Midwest region reports on Wednesday. The measures oblige, among other things, to always have a mouth mask on the public domain and all publicly accessible places. Events with more than 100 attendees are also prohibited, regardless of whether they take place indoors or outdoors.

Due to the increasing number of infections in the region, 16 West Flemish mayors from the Midwest region have decided to jointly issue additional corona measures. These are the municipalities of Ardooie, Hooglede, Oostrozebeke, Ingelmunster, Izegem, Ledegem, Lichtervelde, Meulebeke, Moorslede, Pittem, Roeselare, Ruiselede, Staden, Tielt, Wielsbeke and Wingene.

One of the measures obliged to have a mouth mask on the public domain and all publicly accessible places. Furthermore, wearing a mouth mask is mandatory at all events, in queues, public infrastructures and buildings, public spaces and recycling parks.

Those who exercise should not wear a mask. All sports competitions may only take place without audience, both indoor and outdoor. Being further events with more than 100 attendees are now prohibitedregardless of whether they take place indoors or outdoors.

The events must be pre-approved by the mayor and anyone attending an event must register and wear a face mask. Occasional markets, such as flea markets, are also prohibited.

In addition, a regional joint contact point has been appointed for the primary care areas. This person will form the link between the Flemish Care and Health administration and the local authorities.

The municipalities also continue to consult with the Flemish government in collaboration with W13 about local contact tracing. They want to start that as soon as possible. The measures will apply from July 30 throughout the Midwest zone.
