The Ovation of the Seas of the US shipping company Royal Caribbean will sail from Yokohama to Los Angeles in May 2025. You can currently secure this positioning cruise at particularly low prices. For the 16 nights you pay just €782 per person in an inside cabin. If you want to enjoy a little more space and luxury, you can alternatively book an outside cabin from €950 and a balcony cabin from €1,017 (each per person for double occupancy).
For solo travelers, this cruise in an inside cabin can currently be booked from €1,136. This corresponds to a surcharge of around 45%. The prices mentioned include full board in the main and buffet restaurants as well as water, coffee and tea with the main meals.
If you book through the sea travel service, you will currently receive an on-board credit, the amount of which depends on the total travel price. If you choose an inside cabin, the total is 70 US dollars (if the cabin is occupied by two people).
Route
The cruise starts in Yokohama, the second largest city in Japan. There you will find numerous futuristic shopping centers, but also the tallest building in Japan. From the top you can enjoy the excellent view of the harbor and the city. Then it continues to Shimizu, which is near the city of Shizuoka. The Ovation of the Seas then sails to Osaka. The metropolis is considered an industrial, commercial, cultural and research center and was also formerly the seat of the Japanese emperor.
As soon as you leave Japan, you will spend a total of 11 days at sea on the Pacific. This is the ideal time to explore the ship and all its amenities. Treat yourself to culinary delights in one of the restaurants or enjoy one of the spectacular shows in the theater. On board, you can also try out the North Star glass capsule and float freely above the sea at a height of 90 meters.
On day 16, the ship reaches the US West Coast metropolis of Los Angeles, which is of course best known for being the home of the Oscars and the famous Walk of Fame. To ensure you have enough time for individual exploration, disembarkation will not take place until the next morning.

Die Ovation of the Seas
The Ovation of the Seas is the 3rd ship of the Quantum class at Royal Caribbean. She was built by Meyer Papenburg in Germany and entered service in 2016.
The ships of the Quantum class do not have such an open design as the Oasis ships built in parallel and are therefore suitable for (almost) all cruise areas. New attractions include a wind tunnel (RipCord by iFly) in which you can float, a multifunctional hall with bumper cars and the Northstar, which is clearly visible from the outside. This is a glass ball that you can swing overboard on a crane to look at the ship from the outside, and of course you can also see great sunsets here. There is also a surf simulator like on the Oasis ships and the usual climbing wall. All of these attractions are included in the price.
The restaurants differ slightly from the classic cruise. You can choose between 5 restaurants (included) and 3 specialty restaurants for an additional charge. There is therefore no longer a fixed table. This gives you more variety, but it is also a little more complicated. The quality remains good, however, as you would expect from Royal Caribbean.
