Halle – An honest finder discovered 150,000 euros in a kitchen cupboard, which he bought online for 240 euros. He took the treasure to the police. Now it turns out: There were also thick envelopes with cash in other cupboards that were sold when the household was liquidated!
At the beginning of the week, the police in Köthen looked for the owner of two cash boxes that had been sold together with a used kitchen. Thomas Heller (50), who bought the kitchen for the children’s and youth group in Klepzig, brought the money to the police and helped to solve the case.
The search revealed: The money belongs to pensioner Elisabeth W. (91). After her husband died, the wheelchair user was placed in a home.
A relative reports: “Other eBay furniture buyers also contacted us after the household liquidation, handing over envelopes with small amounts of cash.”
Sometimes it was 100, sometimes 300 euros. Elisabeth W.: “I had completely forgotten the money. But I’m glad that everything is still there.”
