A fire in a house in the Hanau Main-Kinzig district caused damage of 150,000 euros. Firefighters rescued four cats.
Hanau – As the police headquarters in Southeast Hesse in Offenbach announced on Good Friday (April 7), a fire broke out in a ground floor apartment on Thursday evening around 9 p.m. on Landwehr Street in Hanau in the Main-Kinzig district.
The Hanau professional fire brigade together with the Hanau-Mitte operations department was alerted by the control center. “On site, an extensive room fire was found in an apartment building,” reported a spokesman for the fire brigade.

“The fire was quickly brought under control by several teams wearing respiratory protection. During the extinguishing measures, four cats were rescued from the building by the fire brigade,” the fire brigade said.
No one was injured in the fire, according to police. Officials estimate the damage to be around $150,000. According to the police, it is still unclear what caused the fire in the apartment building.
“The apartment building could not be used again after the extinguishing work was completed,” said a police spokesman. “Some of the residents stayed with friends.”
After extensive ventilation measures, the fire brigade ended the operation after about three hours at 11:15 p.m. In addition to the fire brigade and police, the rescue service was also on site on Thursday evening.
It was not until the end of March that there was a roof truss fire in the Main-Kinzig district with great damage. According to the police, the fire in Erlensee caused damage of around 150,000 euros. The residents were able to save themselves in time.
