150 refugees from Ukraine welcomed this Saturday at the Chambelland gymnasium, in Dijon

They arrive by coach from Germany: this Saturday, 150 Ukrainians are to be received at the Chambelland gymnasium, in the Junot district. To cope with the influx of displaced people, the city and the prefecture requisitioned this room to centralize the care of Ukrainians.

It is here that they will be taken care of by the State services and civil security, with interpreters, to direct them to temporary accommodation. They will benefit”an initial study of their administrative situation“, according to the prefecture. In addition, a professional photographer will be on hand to take identity photos, psychologists and SAMU doctors will take care of those who need them. Clothing, medicines, infant products will also be distributed. .

A room reserved for veterinary services has also been planned for Ukrainians who will arrive with their pets, with the possibility of vaccinating and chipping them on site, specifies the prefecture.

A space for rest, catering, a playground and showers have been set up in the gymnasium. The Ukraine Dijon Besançon association prepared 150 cold meals. The prefecture states that “This site is not intended to receive donations from individuals“.

In Dijon, most refugees are currently welcomed at the Abrioux home, apart from those who have already come through family channels.
