Central Park in New York is being redesigned

New York’s Central Park will be redesigned and renovated in the coming years. The residents and visitors of the Big Apple can look forward to a new swimming pool, among other things. The private donors did not take long to be asked.
New York’s Central Park is getting a new outdoor pool for around $ 150 million. The pool should serve as an ice rink in winter, the park administration announced at a press conference in New York. For this purpose, an existing but badly dilapidated swimming pool, which also serves as an ice rink in winter, should be completely rebuilt.
In addition, the entire north end of the famous park in Manhattan is to be redesigned so that the new facility and the various existing bodies of water can be better integrated into nature. The money for the project, which should be completed in 2024, comes partly from the city and partly from donations collected by the park administration. It is the most expensive individual project to date in the history of the park administration founded in 1980. The project is mainly supported by many private donors.
The north of Central Park usually gets less attention than the south, also known from films and series, which is joined by many expensive residential areas. More than 40 million people come to Central Park every year – but only around 2.5 million stop by the north end, almost 220,000 have visited the outdoor pool there every year, which like all New York outdoor pools, and the ice rink.
