Pursuant to the Law on the Control of the Implementation of Restrictive Measures in View of Russia’s Actions Destabilizing the Situation in Ukraine, on January 1, 2024, customs officials carried out inspections at Lukoil Neftohim – Burgas, as well as at over 50 other tax warehouses in the country, of crude oil and oil products that fall within the scope of the restrictive measures.
About 150 customs officers from the “Follow-up Control”, “Excise Activity” and “Customs Intelligence and Investigation” units are engaged. On the territory of Burgas Customs, 23 employees were included in the inspections.
The main objective is to inventory the available quantities:
– crude oil imported on the basis of the derogation authorized by the Council of Ministers pursuant to Art. 3m, paragraph 5 of Regulation (EU) No. 833/2014;
– available petroleum products produced from crude oil imported on the basis of the derogation.
