The 15 young people arrived in October, selected on file, to perform a Civic Service for 8 months. They received their diploma this Friday during a ceremony at the town hall.

Much more than a diploma, they lived “8 months of meetings, help and support to find their way” estimates Paul Ortiz, 21 years old who spent these 8 months in the youth service as a digital guide . Paul arrived in October a little idle with his IT license passed in alternation. “But when I found myself in an office in front of a computer, I quickly realized that I was bored. Now I know that I want to be an animator with children”.

Discreet but less than at first, Claire Iriarte, 20 years old, did not have enough words to describe these 8 months ” I arrived after missing the medical competition. I no longer trusted myself. I chose to work in a completely different field, ecology by working in shared gardens. We were doing activities, raising awareness about recycling, for example. I had to go to the others, which was very difficult for me at first. Now, I know that you can learn differently and elsewhere than at school. I have just been accepted at the Bordeaux nursing school. I have come to terms with this now and I have regained self-confidence “.
Each young person received compensation during his civic service of 580 euros per month.
The seventh promotion is in preparation. Applications can be sent to the town hall of Anglet.
