Salon Real was launched 15 years ago. The idea behind it was to offer women in the industry a platform for exchange and support. Today, the network has more than 200 members in management positions. They cover a wide range of areas in the real estate industry, from architecture, project development and real estate brokerage to legal and tax advice, real estate valuation and financing, real estate marketing and PR, facility management, construction, management consulting and university teaching.
In addition to regular communication with other networks, excursions and study trips are also part of the association’s activities. Study trips and excursions enrich the association through the combination of further training, exchange of experience and inspiration, which ultimately leads to greater competence and innovative power. In the 15 years since the association was founded, some things have improved. However, there is still a lot to be done when it comes to the representation of women in management positions. “We share and promote empowerment, HR knowledge and legal know-how and thus actively help to ensure equal opportunities at all career levels,” says Karin Schmidt-Mitscher, Head of Housing at Erste Bank.
We are still looking for members for the salon, and “women who want to become members should be willing to work actively with us,” explains Karin Schmidt-Mitscher, “for example by regularly attending our events or by participating in our trips.”
But on Monday, the celebrations began: around 300 guests attended the anniversary event.
