“GAM Leaders We Miss Aceh”
HELSINKI – Perdana Meuntrou of the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) Maleek Mahmud, yesterday expressed his desire to return to Aceh.
However, it all depends on the security conditions in Aceh.
“We miss Aceh, one day we will definitely return. But it all depends on the security in Aceh,” said Malek Mahmud, who was contacted exclusively at Hanaasarii Hanaholmen, Helsinki, Sunday (14/8/2005) evening WIB.
On that occasion, Maleek Mahmud was accompanied by GAM’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Zaini Abdullah and several other GAM leaders.
Hotel Hanasaarii is located outside the city of Helsinki or about 10 kilometers from the Hilton Hotel where some of the Indonesian delegation is staying.
According to Malek Mahmud, security issues are a major factor.
