The girl is suspected of killing her ten-year-old little brother, learns Aftonbladet. On Wednesday afternoon, Aftonbladet writes that the girl has been arrested and remanded in custody.
The police themselves only state that there is a connection between the accused and the victim.
– A person under the age of 18 has been arrested, suspected of attempted murder. On Sunday, the suspicion was changed to attempted murder, when the victim died. The suspect is now suspected of murder, the police say.
It was on Saturday evening that the police went to an address in Vällingby, west of Stockholm in Sweden, where a child was found with serious injuries. The person later died from his injuries.
– The district court has considered that an arrest is carried out. We have an extensive investigation that is ongoing, and my assessment is that there is suspicion of probable cause, says state attorney Josefina Yalo to Aftonbladet.
According to information to Aftonbladet, both the police and social authorities must have notified the girl earlier. Expressen writes that the girl has a history of several psychological examinations.
Police say the murder took place indoors. Several nearby residents are said to have witnessed the attack, and tried to perform life-saving first aid on the boy, the newspaper writes.
The girl’s lawyer Douglas Lidberg tells Aftonbladet that his client contested the arrest request. He does not wish to comment further.
