« Being 15 years old in final year seems like anything but a long, smooth river. Integrating into a class where people consider you their little sisters and not a colleague requires patience and tenacity but, as I had a goal, to pass my exam, I fought tooth and nail and final I obtained my baccalaureate with honors », explains serenely Dorlane who is aware that life requires sacrifices. “ We don’t live in a world of Care Bears, you have to work hard, not lose your values on the way to achieving your goals ”, said the latter, although shy but with a strong character. “ My goal is to finish my studies at 23 and do something else. What’s certain is that I don’t close any doors », suggested Dorlane.
For well-born souls, value does not wait for the number of years. A saying that sums up Dorlane’s journey well, which is worthy of a rally. At 15, the age when some children are preparing to present their first cycle studies certificate (BEPC), Dorlane has just been admitted to the FSSA. A victory that she dedicates to her parents and her pastor with whom she speaks frequently because the young girl is also passionate about reading. “ I take books from the pastor’s library, reading helps me relax and travel to new lands », says Dorlane.
His extraordinary journey is a beautiful revenge in life for his father Donatien Ibouanga who wanted to be a doctor but ultimately had to go into construction for lack of support. “ Dorlane was always ahead of other kids in her class, which is why she skipped several grades to be able to find her place “, said the father who is having difficulty holding back his joy “ When I got the results of the baccalaureate, I had the impression of having had a trophy and the total satisfaction was my admission to the FSSA, because it was not easy. His success results from his will, his work, his passion and also our support, because parents should be more involved in the education of their children and of course teach them the fear of God », indicated Mr. Ibouanga.
Passionate about reading, Dorlane nevertheless feels better in scientific studies where she gives body and soul and succeeds with bio making those around her proud. “ I had Dorlane at Sunday school, she’s a star, she understands very quickly and expresses herself really well. She deserves encouragement from the government because she is part of tomorrow’s elite and it is this type of project that we should support “, confided a Sunday school instructor. Indeed, Dorlane has risen through the ranks at lightning speed. “ I like to learn, discover and introduce those around me, in this sense learning for me has become like a game more than a constraint », underlined Dorlane whose dream of wearing the white coat will soon come true. Finally, her success is all the more remarkable as she studied at Chaminade High School, in a public establishment which for many parents has lost its reputation.
