15-year-old boy may be on winterswijk electoral list despite objections

A fifteen-year-old boy from Winterswijk who had run for the municipal elections, may remain on the electoral list of a local party. This was decided by the Council of State. The boy’s mother objected, but that was rejected.

According to Lev weikamp’s mother, her son needs permission from his parents. But the Council states that the boy, who participates Frontal on behalf of the party he founded, may remain on the list. He will be 18 years of age during the term for which he is voted.

Weikamp came up with the party with his friend Oliver Heming (16). Heming is the youngest party leader in the Netherlands. Weikamp is number two on the list. To get into the city council, the party needs about a thousand votes.

The municipal elections will be held on March 16. But just as with the parliamentary elections, in the municipal elections in connection with corona, there can also be early voting.

This means that a number of polling stations will open in each municipality on 14 and 15 March. By Wednesday, March 2, everyone must have received the voting passes for the elections.
