The one who interprets What’s the point ? received more than 3000 messages of insults and death threats as reported by Le Parisien. Messages of incredible violence like “You want to sing sodom in a church? No worries, wear your balls and do the same (sic) in a mosque” or “Fuck your mother“. The singer then filed a complaint and an investigation was opened. Following this, 15 people will be tried before the Paris Criminal Court in early October forthe homophobic cyberbullying of singer Eddy de Pretto, as reported by Agence France Presse. These individuals will appear on October 3 and 4 for “online harassment with ITT (total interruption of work) for more than eight days and online harassment with ITT for more than eight days committed because of the sexual orientation of the victim“, according to the prosecution.
The investigation tells us that cyberstalkers were arrested throughout France: Isère, Rhône, Manche, Paris, Côte-d’Or, Haute-Loire, Gironde, Yvelines, Maine-et-Loire, Doubs, Ille-et- Vilaine, Seine-Saint-Denis, or even the Meuse. A source close to the investigation also reported that among the suspects were conservative Catholics.
