The incident took place around 8:00 a.m. in the Medina CountyWest of Saint Anthony and approximately 110 miles from the Mexican border.

The chase continued towards the neighbor bexar county, where the driver lost control and the vehicle rolled over. Inside it were found 15 immigrants and the driver, originally from Austin.

Two people were transferred helicopter to a San Antonio hospital and the other passengers were taken away in ambulances, according to authorities.

Two of the individuals were admitted in critical condition. Initially there were no reports on the health status of the others.

The authorities pointed out that the driver had a gun in the vehicle and faces multiple charges. His name was not immediately released.
