The Olympics are nothing compared to the tension that builds up in the final rounds of the DMSt Bundesliga. The third-to-last round of the competition is behind us and the promotion places are still hotly contested in many of the DMSt leagues.

While the weather on Saturday was still mostly suitable for flying, which particularly benefited the east and north-east, it became increasingly unstable on Sunday. Only in the beautiful Allgäu did the weather offer a chance to fly some useful points for the league, and this was done with flying skills.
1. Bundesliga
The north was strongly represented this weekend.
The round winner is LSV Burgdorf. League players Carsten Freyer and Oliver Sörensen stayed true to their homeland and club member Tim Altmann started together with Philipp Freiheit in an Arcus M as part of the qualification championship, which is currently taking place in Brandenburg at the Lüsse airfield. Carsten can look back on his flight on Saturday in an AS 33 Me 18 m the highest track rating in the first DMSt-Bundesliga.
The Burgdorfers consolidated their 5th position in the overall rankings thanks to the lap points they collected. Unfortunately, their Hanover neighbors were unable to move up any further this weekend – the competition was too strong for that.
Second place in the round this weekend goes to LSV Rinteln from Lower Saxony. This means Rinteln can now fight its way up another place in the overall ranking and is currently in bronze.
Third place in the round also goes to the LSV Gifhorn in Lower Saxony. The northern lights based at Wilsche airfield have gained another place in the overall ranking and are now in 9th place.
The first two places in the overall ranking remain untouched this week.
With a total of 142 points, SFV Bad Wörishofen leads the table. Club member Simon Schröder achieved most speed points in the first DMSt-Bundesliga. With an average sprint speed of 135.5 km/h – completely justified!
The Bavarian colleague ranks eleven points behind Bad Wörishofen, the SFZ Königsdorf remains in second place this weekend.
For some clubs in the first DMSt Bundesliga, things will be tight at the end. The clubs that are in the last five places overall at the end of the league season will have to make room and swap places with the first five places in the second DMSt Bundesliga for the coming 2025 season.
The FSC Odenwald is currently at the bottom of the table. With 22 points, the Baden-Württemberg team has fallen far behind the competition. Can they still make up this gap?
AC Pirmasens and FSVO Reinheim are tied on points in second and third last place.
SFV Mannheim is currently five points ahead and the gliding paradise Dannstadt is only six points behind in 20th place.
We are curious to see how much attacking will the five clubs still have or whether they will give up their places without a fight to the five promoted teams from the Second DMSt Bundesliga.
Quite a lot going on on Saturday in Lüsse! @TimAltmann and @PhilippFreiheit
2. Bundesliga
This weekend, the round ranking is led by the Aero Team Klix. The Saxon gliding club has to thank the flights of its members Simone Trentelj together with Ingo Trentelj on an ASH 25 EB 28, Johannes Barwick also in a two-seater with Hubertus Oehme on a Duo Discus T and Dennis Zettwitz on a Ventus 2cT 17.6 m. With his flight on Saturday, Dennis the highest track rating in the Second DMSt Bundesliga, over a distance of 608 km across the country’s borders to Poland. Klix can therefore move up another place in the overall ranking and is now in 13th place.
The second round winner is the Bavarian AC Ansbach. In their situation, the Middle Franconians urgently needed the hard-earned round points to distance themselves from the dreaded relegation places. They were able to overtake five other clubs and are now in midfield in 14th place.
This weekend, BAeC-Mitte completes the round podium. The Berlin team adds the round points they have achieved to their well-filled points account. This allows them to increase their distance from the lower-placed clubs and consolidate their current second place in the overall table.
No second division team is shaking up the top of the table this weekend. SFG Wenningfeld remains in first place. The newly joined LSC Bayer Leverkusen can also maintain and consolidate its position in third place.
This weekend, FLG Dettingen u. Teck managed to jump into one of the promotion spots and is now in 4th place, ten points behind the second-placed LSV Homberg/Ohm.
As a result, LSV Straubing was pushed out of its promotion spot and now has to fight again in the next two weeks to regain its former position.
Another competitor is creeping up from below and is now positioned ready to attack in 6th place overall: FC Bronkow can make up three places this weekend and is currently level on points with its Bavarian cross-country flight colleagues from Straubing.
Whether they will start in the Regionalliga next season and have to vacate their place in the Second DMSt-Bundesliga will be decided in the next two weeks.
Currently, SFG Steinwald is leading the field from the back with 10 points. FSV Sindelfingen is currently in second-to-last place, just eight points behind the next-placed FC Eichstätt. Eleven more points separate the Bavarians from FSV Neustadt adW from the Palatinate.
This week, SFG Bensheim is fighting its way up one place, away from the relegation zone. LV Reutlingen is slipping down to 21st place. Whether the Hessians can hold on to their shaky position and defend themselves against the competition will be seen in the remaining rounds.
Christoph Kahler from SFG Wenningfeld can win this round with his flight on a Nimbus 4M the highest speed rating in the Second DMSt-Bundesliga. The flight covered a distance of 516 km with an overall average of 116 km/h and an incredible sprint average of 130.4 km/h.
Junior League
The Baden-Württembergers are seeing black this weekend! LSR Aalen came first in this round thanks to the flights of its two juniors Paul Schwarz and Ulrich Schwarz. This means that Aalen can fight its way up a significant amount and move past 33 other clubs into the top twenty.
FG Oerlinghausen won the third round, which also gave them a further boost. They fought their way past 12 other junior league teams to 13th place overall.
As is well known, nothing will change at the top, as SFZ Königsdorf has already been declared the overall winner due to their enormous point difference.
But the order of the first six places remains unchanged. SFV Bad Wörishofen is still in third place, LSG Isny is just behind with a gap of just four points, and behind them are LV Reutlingen and LSV Burgdorf.
Most speed points In the junior league this weekend, Lars Henri Merbt from AC Nastätten achieved the top spot with his flight on Saturday on an ASH 25 E. Lars brought home an average sprint speed of 115.4 km/h – clean!
Finn Gutzeit from FC Bad Berka Weimar will reach the most route pointsOn an LS 4 we drove a total of 367 km with an average speed of 70 km/h between Dresden and Leipzig – very well done!
This week there is another placing to celebrate. Second place in the round rankings gives SFZ Aachen enough points to distance themselves from the competition so far that they are unassailable after this weekend. Silver for last year’s overall winner of the DMSt Junior Bundesliga! They were unable to defend their title, but they are guaranteed a medal and that is once again an incredibly great achievement that the young pilots from the border achieved there. Congratulations!

Regional leagues
In the north, AC Berlin wins the regional league with 429 points. This gives the capital club a real boost and it climbs three places in the overall rankings into the top ten. HVL Boberg remains top of the table after this weekend.
In the middle, LSV Hofgeismar is leading the race with 351 points and is getting dangerously close to the current leader FK Carl Zeiss Jena. We are excited to see how the duel for the promotion spot develops in the upcoming rounds.
In the NRW league, FSG Schwarze Heide took first place with 348 points. FPG Krefeld-Egelsberg remains the overall leader.
The FG Neckartal Köngen achieved 289 points, and thus first place, in the BaWü League. This also allowed the flying group to extend its overall lead. It remains to be seen how the FLG Blaubeuren reacts. The promotion place has not yet been finally decided.
In Bavaria, the SFZ Ottengrüner Heide won the race last weekend with 416. Thanks to this achievement, the Franconians were able to move up another place in the overall ranking and are now only 184 points behind the SFG Werdenfels, which is still in first place.
It will be exciting again and we are looking forward to the last two rounds!
