There are things in your closet that you should throw away now. Leather bags, cloth bags, backpacks, purses, suitcases… Surely scattered throughout the house you have more ‘bags’ than you think and the vast majority you do not use (and you don’t even remember what you had). So he spends a while pulling them all out and deciding which ones you keep and which ones you don’t. Shall we make a Marie Kondo of bags?
the bags you should throw out (or donate) from your closet
1. Your collection of old-fashioned bags
Fashions are also fleeting when it comes to bags. So if you bought a bag with studs because it was the most and now it looks more dated than a shirt with shoulder pads, it is best that you get rid of it because it is taking up very valuable space in your closet.
2. That bag you inherited
That bag that your sister, your mother, your aunt did not want… and you thought that you were going to use it a lot and you have not worn it even once, the time has come for you to get rid of it.
3. A very hippie bag
Sometimes on vacation we do crazy things carried away by the sun, the heat, the sound of the sea… and suddenly we find ourselves with a bag (or several) of a style that really doesn’t suit us at all. Do you really think you’re going to wear it this summer? If the answer is no, throw it away or donate it.
4. A worn bag from wearing it so much
It can happen that you like a bag so much that despite having another twenty more, you always wear it… and in the end the bag (of course) ends up wearing out. If it is irrecoverable, it is best to retire it. You know what they say: a good-looking shoe and bag are essential to create a good look. If it’s from the skin, maybe with a good cleaning you can recover it.
5. Purses from when there were pesetas
If you have a drawer with several purses that you have used and have not used for years, it is best to remove them from the market. You only need a smaller one to go out, another for the coins and a big and good one (if it is made of leather and in good condition) in case the holder breaks. The other accessories should be thrown away because they are left over.
6. A bag that they gave you and that you don’t like at all
If in the bag area you have a few that were given to you with all the good intentions in the world, but they didn’t match your style, don’t be ashamed to throw them away (or donate them). If you don’t like them now, they won’t later either.
7. Bags that gave with magazines
Many magazines, especially in summer, give away all kinds of bags with their issues. At that moment, they sure seemed cute, but the truth is that you haven’t even removed the plastic bag it came with. So it goes outside.
8. A backpack from when you were studying
Because it reminds you of good times, because it’s new, because you never know when you’re going to need one (or two backpacks). If you keep backpacks that you haven’t carried on your back for years (and years), it’s best that you retire them.
9. Bags that you have repeated
As with clothing, sometimes we buy the same bag several times, perhaps in another color. Do you really need three of the same? Go through the bags you have and if there are any that are suspiciously similar, stick with the one that is in better condition.
10. Beach bags from other seasons
Surely over time you have accumulated a few beach bags: striped, transparent plastic, canvas… And how many of all do you use? So keep the ones you use and like, it will be a couple or three, and throw the rest away before summer starts. You don’t go to the beach that much either.
11. Going out bags that never go out
Check the area of the bags to go out, smaller and special. You don’t need more than four and some for special occasions (such as weddings or events). With a black one, another with some shine and a clear one, you have more than enough. The envelope types are also very stylish and, in addition, they take up little space. The rest you don’t need.
12. Fanny packs that make you old
Yes, fanny packs live a second youth, but that does not mean that anything goes. So if you have a saved one from when they were worn in the 90s, don’t even think about wearing it, surely instead of being millennial it will look like you’re wearing an antique.
13. Gym bags when you never step foot in the gym
If you go for a run or play sports at home, you don’t need to have a collection of sports bags. So keep at most two (one large and one small) and give the others to someone who will use them. Think that you steal a very valuable space.
14. Suitcases that no longer travel
Because they no longer fit in the cabin, the zipper gets stuck, you don’t like them anymore… I’m sure you have several reasons why you don’t use any of the suitcases you keep at the top of the closet. Keep one small and one large and the suitcases or travel balls that have not left the house for a long time, throw them away or donate them and thus you will put order at home.
15. A thousand cloth bags to store… what?
One for the flip flops on the beach, for when you take the dryer, for the underwear… we all have small cloth bags at home that help us organize the suitcase, the backpack… but if you have more than 5 or 6 then there are already too many. Go through all the ones you have and those that are more worn, have shrunk or have a print that you are not passionate about, throw them away.
