Desktop 14th generation Intel processorsalso known as Raptor Lake Refresh, are set to debut in a week. That is, a part of them, namely the one marked K or KF. It must be said that we already have a lot of details about them from the last few months, because there was really no shortage of benchmark leaks. Certain details also came from the catalogs of some e-shops, which have already placed the upcoming processors in their catalogs.
Thanks for fresh leak of official benchmarks at Intel, we can take a closer look at how the flagship model will fare Core i9-14900K in games. For many enthusiasts, this data will probably be more relevant than synthetic test results.
The blue team compares their upcoming desktop behemoth to a rival processor Ryzen 9 7950X3D, which uses 3D V-Cache technology, to which it tries to attract players in particular. It is precisely in game tests that it can be said to be the most adequate opponent for Intel.
The two flagship processors have battled it out in several different titles with 1080p resolution and high detail. If you’re wondering why a higher resolution like 1440p or 4K wasn’t used, when CPUs of this type are only bought by power users with expensive graphics cards anyway, the answer is because of the graphics cards. At a higher resolution, a greater part of the load would fall on the GPU, and therefore the measurement of CPU performance would not be so relevant.
Now to the results themselves: Core i9-14900K beats Ryzen 9 7950X3D in 14 out of 25 titles. In some games like Starfield or Metro Exodus, it showed more than 20% superiority, but lost in Dota 2 or Fortnite, for example.
But as for the average results, Intel’s creation is only 2% better, which is not much. However, the price may play into the cards for the blue team, which the Core i9-14900K will probably get better. But we will have to wait a little longer for confirmation. However, the downside is likely to be consumption.
