149 Spanish Cities Implementing Low Emission Zones by 2023

Starting in 2023, municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitants will have a low emission zone. These are the 149 cities that will incorporate it in Spain.

The Climate Change and Energy Transition Law which will enter into force in 2023, will force all cities with more than 50,000 inhabitants to incorporate a low emission zonewith the intention of combating climate change.

On the other hand, this law also has the objective of complying with the regulations established by the European Union regarding emissionsclimate and sustainable development.

What cars will the Low Emission Zones affect?

As expected, movement restrictions will especially affect the most polluting vehicles. That is, those who they do not have a DGT label.

On the other hand, the restrictions will be lower for the vehicles labeled B and Cas is the case in Madrid, where they can access the Central District, but with the obligation to park in a public parking lot. A penalty that is also applicable to drivers who break the restrictions in episodes of high pollution.
