14,821 offenders arrested in Saudi Arabia during one week 14,821 offenders arrested in one week in Saudi Arabia

Jubail: In one week, 14,821 people were arrested from different provinces of the country for violating residence and work laws and border security regulations. The arrest took place during a joint pitched campaign conducted by several units of the security forces and the General Directorate of Passports (Jawasat) between the 8th and 14th of this month.

Among those arrested, 8,817 violated residence rules, 3,879 violated border security regulations and more than 2,125 violated labor laws. 676 people were caught trying to enter the country illegally across the border. 58% of them are Yemenis, 39% are Ethiopians and 3% are from other countries.

98 people were caught trying to leave the country. 24 people were arrested for their involvement in smuggling, harboring and hiding residence and employment law violators. A total of 45,197 offenders have been tried so far. Of which 43,099 males and 2,098 females.
