Abroad, election day ended today at 05:00 Bulgarian time on the West Coast of the USA and Canada, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the information of our diplomatic and consular representations, all polling stations around the world have already successfully completed their work and submitted their results. With 97.22% of the protocols of the sectional election commissions processed, 146,952 people exercised their right to vote abroad.
Bulgarian citizens had the opportunity to vote in a total of 719 polling stations in 57 countries, with the largest number of polling stations located in Europe.
In the USA, 53 sections were opened, and in Canada – 15. Our compatriots had the opportunity to vote from the West Coast of the USA and Canada to Tokyo in Japan, Singapore and Auckland in New Zealand, from Tromsø in the north in Norway, to the Republic of South Africa.
Thanks to the efforts of the employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, diplomatic and consular representations of the Republic of Bulgaria abroad and Bulgarian organizations abroad, the vote passed without difficulties, and our compatriots were able to exercise their constitutional right to vote without hindrance.
