In 2019, the St-Tho association blew out its 145 candles. A thematic exhibition traces the long history of this Le Havre institution, with supporting photos and testimonials.

Formerly called patronage Saint-Thomas-d’Aquin, then Saint-Thomas, the structure created in 1874 in Havre (Seine-Maritime) now responds to the name of St-Tho. Nowadays, the association, which has become secular, continues the actions initiated at the end of the 19th century.e century.
Offering leisure activities for young and old (artistic or sports practice), St-Tho manages several leisure centers in different districts of Le Havre. Aged 145 years, the association wished to review its history. Theexposition, St-Tho, I remember, retraces this long history, nourished byarchives and of testimonials collected by the association The story pickers.

From yesterday to today
In January and February 2020, workshops were organized to collect the testimonies of people who had answered the call for witnesses launched by the association for this anniversary date.
Karine Chevallier from the Les Cueilleurs d’histoires association met some thirty people who came to tell their memories of St-Tho. Some have known the structure personally, others have evoked the memories given by their parents, explains Hélène Millier, director of the association.

St-Tho is also basketball, training… The exhibition, made up of 19 thematic panels, traces a 145-year history. “However, the exhibition is not only looking to the past. We also interviewed parents and children who attend the recreation center today. “
Photos and archives
In addition to the testimonies collected, the exhibition also presents photographs, “60 original photos of the end of the XIXe century to the present day ”. A display case containing documents and fragile objects, “such as an old book, a statue or a standard”, completes the device and allows the history of the association to be scanned.
A guest book will be available to the public to collect other souvenirs related to St-Tho. History continues to be written …
