14-Year-Old Boy Electrocuted While Climbing Train Wagon in Graz

According to the police, he may have sprayed graffiti when the accident occurred in Graz.

A 14-year-old boy is fighting for his life after being electrocuted. The teenager is said to have climbed onto a train wagon in Graz on Thursday afternoon.

The incident happened around 2:10 p.m. The young Romanian was traveling with a 13-year-old friend at the marshalling yard on Plabutscherstrasse. After the two friends entered the premises or the sidings without authorization, the 14-year-old climbed onto a wagon. According to the 13-year-old friend and witness, the 14-year-old boy suddenly suffered an electric shock from the high-voltage power line and subsequently fell to the ground.

The boy suffered serious injuries.Rescue, emergency doctor and officers from the Graz-Wienerstraße police station took care of him and brought him off the tracks. The Red Cross then delivered the boy to the children’s surgery of the LKH Graz. The condition of the 14-year-old is currently critical due to the severity of the injuries.

Initial investigations revealed that the youth probably climbed onto the train to spray graffiti. Further investigations into the accident are ongoing.
