14 Ways to Overcome the Right Vertigo, Recognize the Symptoms and Causes

1. Performing the Epley Maneuver

The Epley maneuver is the first strategy for people with vertigo. Research shows that the Epley maneuver is very effective for people with BPPV. You can perform the maneuver at home by following this simple procedure:

– Start by sitting up straight on a flat surface, with a pillow behind you and with your legs outstretched.

– Turn your head 45 degrees to the right.

– Stay in this position for at least 30 seconds.

– Slowly turn your head to the left a full 90 degrees, without lifting your neck.

– Engage the whole body, turning it to the left so that you are really on the left side.

– Slowly return to the starting position, look forward and sit up straight.

This movement may be repeated three times in a row, and you may feel dizzy during each movement. But you will feel better after doing this movement.

2. Semont-Toupet maneuver

The Semont-Toupet maneuver is a series of movements that can be performed at home to treat vertigo. The Semont-Toupet maneuver is very similar to the Epley maneuver, but requires less neck flexibility.

– Start by sitting up straight on a flat surface, with a pillow behind you and with your legs outstretched.

– Lie down, turn the body to the right, and look to the upper left side.

– Return to a sitting position and turn to the left side and keep your head facing the left.

– Slowly return to the starting position, look forward and sit up straight.
