Flood which hit the Kapuas Regency, Central Kalimantan, is increasingly widespread after high-intensity rains still occur frequently and trigger an overflow of the Kapuas Watershed. Data as of 1 April 2023 at 21.00 WIB, as many as 4,166 houses in 14 villages were flooded with a water level (TMA) reaching 40 to 130 centimeters.
Quoted from the written statement of Plt. The Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center, Abdul Muhari explained that the 14 villages are located in two sub-districts whose details include Marapit Village, Tapen Village, Kota Baru Village, Pujon Village, Bajuh Village, Penda Muntei Village, Kayu Bulan Village, Manis Village. and Karukus Village in Central Kapuas District.
Next are Petak Puti Village, Tumbang Randang Village, Lungkuh Layang Village, Lawang Kamah Village and Lawang Kajang Village in Timpah District.
The Center for Control and Operations (Pusdalops) of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Kapuas Regency recorded that at least 16,234 people from 5,357 households had been affected by the floods that had occurred since Wednesday (29/3). Even so, until now there are no residents who have fled and have chosen to stay in their respective homes.
BPBD Kapuas Regency also detailed that there were 36 public facilities affected, 35 units of houses of worship, 11 units of health facilities and 67 road access points.
Disease Begins to Attack Residents
In a written report from Panahatan Sinaga as the Chief Executive of the Kapuas Regency BPBD, that flooding in the area has caused at least 39 residents to start developing a disease in the form of hives. In addition, there was a resident who was treated at the health post because he had diarrhea and vomiting.
Panahatan said that all residents who had health complaints had received intensive care from the UPT Pujon Health Center team, under the auspices of the Kapuas District Health Office, who were also always escorted by the local Babinsa and Bhabinkamtimbas.
“The average sick victim complaining of skin itching has received medical action by the Kapuas District Health Office,” said Panahatan.
