14. In the Saeima elections, it will be possible to vote in 80 polling stations abroad / Article

On the day of the Saeima elections, October 1, polling stations for voters abroad will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time, and not only Latvian citizens living in the respective country, but also voters who have gone abroad on a short-term business trip or trip will be able to vote in them.

Voters abroad will be able to vote in person on election day at polling stations in the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, France, Greece, Georgia, Estonia, India, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Israel, Japan, Canada, Kazakhstan, Russia, China, South Korea, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Moldova, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Finland, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, Hungary, Uzbekistan, Germany and in Sweden.

The polling stations for the 14th Saeima elections will be in the following world cities – Adelaide, Ankara, Abu Dhabi, Athens, Baku, Bergen, Berlin, Boston, Bradford, Bremen, Brisbane, Brussels, Bristol, Budapest, Zurich, Chicago, Denver, Düsseldorf, Dublin, Guernsey, Frankfurt am Main, Freiburg, The Hague, Hamburg, Helsinki, Indianapolis, Canberra, Cairo, Kiev, Chisinau, Copenhagen, Leonberg, London, Los Angeles, Luxembourg, Madrid, Moscow, Melbourne, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Münster, Montreal, Northampton, Novaodesa, Nursultan, New Delhi, New York, Oslo, Ottawa, Paris, Beijing, Perth, Prague, Reykjavik, Rome, San Francisco, Seoul, Sydney, Seattle, Stavanger, Stockholm, Strasbourg, Swansea, Tallinn, Tashkent, Tbilisi, Tel Aviv, Tenerife, In Tokyo, Vail, Valencia, Vancouver, Warsaw, Washington, Vilnius, Vitebsk, Vienna, as well as in “Straumēni” in Great Britain.

Voters abroad will be able to participate in Saeima elections by voting by mail.

It is possible to apply for postal voting from abroad from today, July 23, to September 9.

14. Citizens of Latvia from the age of 18 will have the right to participate in the Saeima elections. The voting document is a valid passport of a Latvian citizen or identity card of a Latvian citizen (eID card). This time, voters who only have an identity card but no valid passport will be able to easily participate in the elections, as the voter register will be used for the registration of voters for the first time in the parliamentary elections and the passport will not be stamped for participation in the elections. Therefore, voters who only have an ID card will not need a voter’s card to participate in the elections.
