In the Steam Sale this week there’s Disco Elysium, among other things, significantly reduced.
The Steam Lunar Sale 2021 has barely collected the party lanterns again, it is already there the next Midweek Madness in front of the door. This week, Steam is reducing various good games again, some of which we would like to recommend to you editorially.
Important announcement this time: We’re excluding EA games this week. The complete ensemble of the most important EA games (Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, the Battlefield series, Command & Conquer) has been drastically reduced on Steam for some time. Also this week.

Imperator: Rome

Imperator: Rome is definitely not a bad strategy game, but the Paradox community still has a lot to complain about. So much so that the Roman grand strategy game on Steam still only gets “balanced” review values. But that could change with the latest update. The Marius patch fundamentally changes the game, for example replacing the entire interface. The aim of the update: to give more depth to many individual mechanics such as the military.
Because that’s where the community’s criticism began: Imperator: Rome basically offers a great history sandbox in which you embody one of countless ancient provinces (Rome, Greek city-states, regions of Asia Minor and so on) and with trade, diplomacy and / or war enlarged your empire. But compared to Hearts of Iron 4 or Europa Universalis 4, Imperator lacked the playful depth to really captivate enthusiasts for the long term.
Time has yet to tell whether the patch will fix this. But for 10 euros you can decide for yourself whether you want to give Imperator: Rome a chance. However, the game is also part of Microsoft’s Game Pass – if you are thinking about the subscription here, you can save yourself the purchase of Steam. Oh, the 90s. Every manufacturer wanted to send some mascot into the race to snatch a piece of the cake from Nintendo’s Super Mario. Only a few have made it: Spyro is one of them. The first Spyro adventures delighted a whole generation of children and adults on the PlayStation 1. Lively bouncy pads, a charming world design – Spyro will be warmly remembered.
And the Spyro Reignited Trilogy brings back exactly these classics in modern graphics. The current price of 14 euros is the highest discount the game has ever received on Steam. If you feel like spending a few humorous hours of 3D Jump & Run, you can access it without hesitation.

Northgard

To call Northgard a settler clone doesn’t do the game justice by any means. Because this outstanding strategy game has its own strengths: In the snowy Nordlanden you lead a small Viking tribe to fame, honor and a safe home. Your people knock down huts, collect resources, conquer new territories and fight all kinds of enemies.
Sounds simple, it is also very easy to play, but over time it becomes an exciting challenge for Viking strategists. Northgard shares the charm with a settler: Watching the bustling Vikings survive, rooms and hoes is a wonderfully calming after-work activity. The game now has tons of DLC that are sold separately.
