An explosion in a coal mine in northern Turkey killed 14 workers. 28 people are injured. This was confirmed by the Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu. The accident occurred in a state mine in Amazra, in the province of Bartin.
It was reported that 87 workers were in the mine at the time of the accident. It is reported that 45 workers are trapped in the mine. In early 2014, 301 people were killed in a fire at a coal mine in the city of Soma in western Turkey.
