14 cases of quarantined Bulgarians in the Maldives since the beginning of March

Since the beginning of March, there have been 14 cases of quarantined Bulgarians in the Maldives, 13 of which have a positive PCR result, they told bTV from the press center of our Foreign Ministry.

“The mandatory quarantine required by the health protocol of the Republic of Maldives is for a period of 14 days. Infected citizens and contacts are isolated in separate rooms for 14 days.”

According to travel agencies, a problem has arisen for Bulgarians who have borne their quarantine costs because they were uninsured.

“It is very important that everyone travels with medical insurance, which also includes COVID coverage. It includes, unless you become ill, quarantine costs, if necessary,” explained Petar Stoyanov, director of a travel agency.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that we do not travel to the Maldives. The reason is the increase of infected and quarantined Bulgarians in the Republic of Maldives.
