Patrícia Mamona, 32 years old, had set the best national mark at 14.66, last July 9th, in the Monaco stage of the Diamond League, increasing by one centimeter the record that had earned her sixth place at Rio2016.
In March, at the European Indoor Track, he had already managed to beat another individual mark by jumping 14.53 meters.
Before the Portuguese athlete’s jump, Yulimar Rojas broke the Olympic record. The Venezuelan, one of the big favorites for gold, jumped 15.41 meters.
The jumper completes her third appearance at the Olympic Games, after sixth place in Rio2016 and 13th place in London2012.
