HC defensive cracks Dessau in the east derby – another away win

In the east derby of Dessau Roßlauer HV 06 against HC Elbflorenz, both teams made a nervous start. Perhaps understandable after both teams haven’t been able to gain a lot of self-confidence recently. Before the game there was good news for the HC because with Sebastian Greß the HC had a playmaker available again and with Michal Kasal an additional option in the backcourt. The Saxons had to do without a playmaker against Gummersbach. After the first 10 nervous minutes the game got better and better, with the Dresden team being able to break away slightly for the first time after 20 minutes. This was due on the one hand to a well-placed Mario Huhnstock in goal and on the other hand to 2 hits from a well-performing Nils Kretschmer to 7: 8 and 7: 9. He met 8 times that day, 4 of them from the seven-meter point. At 9:12 by Nils Kretschmer, the guests even led with 3rd goals for the first time. The lead lasted until the break, as both teams met again. However, it must be said that the HC had three outnumbered situations in the 25th minute, which they only used less than optimally, otherwise a higher lead would have been possible. The Dresden defense did a good job in the 1st half, which made life difficult for the opponent with increasing duration and z. B. had important actors of the host, such as Vincent Sohmann and Timo Löser, well under control.
To anticipate it right away: The HC game didn’t get any better in the second half either. HC coach Rico Göde used the words “not too plump” after the game. However, the Saxons did two things very well in the second half: They were still very well on the defensive, above all the inside block with Nils Kretschmer and Phillip Jungemann. And the tempo game worked too. In addition, the Saxons had strong support in Mario Huhnstock that day. It was the HC goalkeeper who destroyed the home team’s last hope of turning the game around with a parade against the countering Jan Zahradnicek. At this point there were still a little less than 3 minutes to play and the HC then finally decided the game with a hit by Jonas Thümmler von Kreis (21:25).
Before that, it was a second half in which the guests posted their first interim success up to the 35th minute and led with 5 goals (12:17) for the first time. Also because the Dresden tempo game worked far better than that of the Bauhausstadters. Ultimately, from the 40th minute onwards, the HC was able to afford slightly more faulty passages, because the opponent did not take hold. So the advantage of the Saxons no longer fell below the 3-goal mark. On the part of the guests, it was only backcourt player Timo Löser who led the way. Philip Ambrosius in the host’s goal also showed a good game. But that was not enough that day. The HC seemed more cohesive as a team and won, led by an offensively and defensively strong Nils Kretschmer, in the end deservedly with 23:26.
Conclusion: Clearly, with the returned playmaker Sebastian Greß, the HC game had a different dynamic and structure. Rico Göde: “He is good for us with his calm and above all accelerates our speed game.” In addition to this fact, the HC won the game mainly on the defensive. It was not the first time this season that he proved that he has mastered them well. So you stayed in the 7th of 11th games with 25 or fewer goals. For Rico Göde, the defensive in conjunction with the goalkeeper were the decisive factor in the evaluation after the game. All in all, the Dresden team seemed more unified than their opponents on that day. The team of coach Uwe Jungandreas has finally reached the first crisis of the season.
