The table tennis and karate competitions started well before the official kick-off of the 13es African Games which will take place this Friday March 8.
Foreign delegations participating in the African Games are beginning to arrive in the Ghanaian capital. The organizing committee is finalizing the final works whether in the competition venues or in the accommodation site at the University City of the Legon Campus. 54 African countries are expected in Accra, from March 8 to 23, spread across 29 sporting disciplines and 9 competition venues. Table tennis kicked off the competition on Sunday at the Ghana International Conference Centre. As announced, Madagascar is involved in 12 sporting disciplines out of the 29 on the games program. The karate delegation arrived yesterday in Accra. The tests will begin tomorrow at Ga-Mashie Hall in Bukon. Two karatekas participate in these games, namely Fenosoa Rakotobe and Gaëlle Linda Rakotonindrina. Fenosoa is engaged in kumite in the under 50 kg category and Gaëlle in kata. The technical meeting, weighing and drawing of lots are held today. The third wave of the delegation leaves the country today, namely, the athletics, the wrestling and the medical team.
