The financial support has the objective of stimulating the monetary capacity of the population to face today’s high prices, according to local authorities. The authorities informed that adults who support dependent people will receive an additional amount of money. For several weeks, the governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, commented that the contribution responds to a tax refund plan.
Mr. Walz expressed that families were worried about the expenses of the beginning of the school year, due to the purchase of materials, accessories and clothing. In addition to the dollars, households will receive free breakfasts and lunches.
The governor thanked the Department of Revenue for its work in quickly distributing the financial contribution. State residents had the option to choose two payment methods. One alternative is through bank deposit and the other consists of checks by traditional mail.
Additional money for dependent people
Each dependent citizen who is selected for the program has the right to deposit a maximum of $260.00 USD above the established figure. However, households can present up to three dependents to access the extra money.
Lieutenant Governor Flanagan also added that the restart of teaching activities in the fall is an important moment for families. Married couples who file their taxes jointly have the possibility of collecting $520.00 USD. But the adjusted gross income (AGI) of these couples cannot exceed the value of $150,000.00 USD.
Single people responsible for housing have the opportunity to receive a check for $260.00 USD. The AGI of these taxpayers must not exceed $75,000.00 USD.
The state tax office plans to issue more than 2 million tax refund payments. Those interested in knowing more details can call 651-565-6595 or write to the digital address [email protected].
