The AUH, one of the most impactful public inclusion policies in the country, currently accompanies over 4.3 million children and adolescents, guaranteeing them the right to social security coverage.
The national government today highlighted the creation of the Universal Child Allowance (AUH) 13 years ago, during the rule of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, and reaffirmed its continuity in continuing to “equalize opportunities for sons and daughters” of over 2.5 million families currently receiving it.

On October 30, 2009, with Decree no. 1602/09, the National State established the Universal Allotment for daughter and son, one of the most impactful public inclusion policies in the country, which currently accompanies over 4.3 million children and adolescents, ensuring their right to social security coverage.
Currently, the AUH “allows equal opportunities for the children of more than 2.5 million Argentine families,” Anses said in a statement.
To guarantee the right to health and education of the children who receive it, families must submit, every year, the complete Libretto in Anses.

Of the 4.3 million children who receive the benefit, 49 percent are girls and 51 percent are boys, with an average age of 8.
Since 2021, the Food Program for girls and boys has been extended up to 14 years, paying in a unified way with the AUH, which currently guarantees the right to quality food to over 3.9 million girls and boys in Argentina. .
From 2022, the Thousand Days Milk Complement program for pregnant mothers and children up to three years of age began to be implemented, welcoming approximately 750,000 people, including mothers of the AUH Pregnancy Allowance and children.
Similarly, for young people between 16 and 17, Progresar has been extended. Currently, more than 200,000 AUH youth are also holders of the Progresar Scholarship Program to finish their studies.
