The sentence is to be announced on September 30. Two 12-year-old boys had already confessed to their involvement in the riots on Monday. The authorities have so far arrested a total of 975 people.

According to the British news agency PA, charges have been brought against at least 50 minors. In England, criminal responsibility begins at the age of ten.
