13-year-old found alive in Denmark – man arrested
13-year-old Filippa has been found alive. A 32-year-old man has been arrested in the case.
This is stated by the Danish police at a press conference on Sunday afternoon.
Police Inspector Kim Kliver says several arrests have been made, but will not say how many, who these are, or on what basis they were arrested.
On Sunday, the police investigated fully, and searched for the girl with great strength. There have also been large amounts of tips and video images in the matter.
– All this means that today we were able to enter an address where we found Filippa alive, and also arrested a 32-year-old man, says Deputy Police Inspector Rune Dahl Nilsson at the press conference.
The man was arrested just before 3pm on Sunday.
– We have a picture of what happened, but we have to keep that picture to ourselves, says police inspector Kliver.
Filippa has been missing from the south of Zealand since Saturday. She didn’t come home after riding a newspaper round.
On Sunday, the police cordoned off and searched around a property. They will not confirm whether it is the same property in which Filippa was found.
– Even seasoned investigators have expressed that we think this is a huge gift. It was an outcome that we are all happy about, says Kliver.
The police would like to thank everyone who sent tips and shared information with the police.
– We have actually received around 600 calls in the last 24 hours. It shows that we all want to make a difference in this matter.
The police said earlier on Sunday that they suspect that the disappearance is due to a criminal act.
The press conference, which was originally supposed to start at 3 p.m., was postponed by a quarter of an hour. It must have been due to a development in the disappearance case.
