13 staffers and players of Ajax have antibodies against coronavirus in their blood | coronavirus

In June, Ajax’s staff and first and second teams underwent a blood test in preparation for the new Dutch football season.

“13 staff members and players of the approximately 90 people tested appear to have antibodies against Covid-19 in their blood,” writes the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.

“It is true that a number of players and staff members have had the coronavirus,” confirms head of communication Miel Brinkhuis, who does not discuss names and numbers due to privacy legislation.

“I want to emphasize that at the moment no one has corona and – except André Onana, who has mild ankle complaints – everyone was present on the training on Tuesday.”

Nothing is known about when the persons involved contracted the virus. No positive case would have had any significant complaints.

In the Netherlands, the competition was not resumed after the lockdown and the Ajax training center also remained closed for weeks.
