The West police district reports at 13.30 on Sunday that there has been a traffic accident in the Vetlebotn tunnel near Aurland.
– Four cars are involved, and 13 people. The first messages we have received do not indicate that anyone is trapped, but we are working to get an overview of the extent of the damage, says operations manager Bjarte Rebnord in the West police district to TV 2.
There are large resources from the emergency services on the way to the site.
The course of events is still somewhat unclear, but the police write on Twitter that a car is said to have been thrown and hit the tunnel wall. This must have led to a chain collision into the stopped car.
Three people were taken to the emergency room in Lærdal by ambulance. The extent of the damage is unknown, but the injured must be awake and aware.
