Next Wednesday, October 25 and Thursday, October 26, the delivery of kits for the 12th edition of the CGV 2023 Night Race will take place at the “Manuel Gómez Morín” Educational and Cultural Center, reported the head of the Secretariat of Human and Social Development, Arturo Torres Gutiérrez, who urged participants to bring a blanket that will be given to older adults in the capital.
In this sense, he recalled that it is a race with a cause, since with the blankets that are expected of the participants, they join the Municipal DIF collection to bring blankets to the vulnerable population of the municipality.
He mentioned that donating a blanket is not mandatory for participants, just an invitation; “It is not a condition, we are inviting you to join this cause, it is not a condition,” she said.
“Take the opportunity to remind the runners that during the delivery of kits that will take place on Wednesday the 25th and Thursday the 26th, they can bring blankets that will cover many elderly people in the municipality; “It is a race with a cause (…) that adds to the strategy of the Municipal DIF.”
It should be noted that the Night Race will take place next Saturday, October 28 at 9:00 p.m. and will depart from the Zenea Garden. For this event, the participation of five thousand people is expected, since that was the number of tickets that were delivered; Therefore, it is expected to raise a significant amount of blankets.
Torres Gutiérrez announced that from 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, road closures will begin in the Zenea Garden area to prepare the spaces for the route and between 7:00 p.m. carried out the total closure of roads in the first square of the city.
The circuit includes the Zenea Garden, Universidad Avenue and Bernardo Quintana, until turning right at Los Arcos, and then the streets of the La Cruz neighborhood of the Historic Center, with the Zenea Garden as its end point.
