The event was centered in Kelambir V Kebun Pasar I Timur Village, Hamparanperak District, Deliserdsng Regency, Sunday (24/12/2023)

In outreach material on AIDS issues, the North Sumatra Province AIDS Control Commission (KPA) stated that it never gets tired of inviting all groups, especially young people, to work together to avoid cases of AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome), because until now there is no cure for this disease.

One thing that can cause the emergence of this disease is the use of drugs and illegal drugs as well as promiscuity, both different-sex relationships that violate norms and same-sex relationships, which recently continue to be rampant in Indonesia.

This confirmation was conveyed by the North Sumatra KPA through its Secretary Drs Achmad Ramadhan MA at the 12th Anniversary of the Indonesian Health Volunteers (REKAN), North Sumatra, which event was filled with social activities of blood donation, distribution of basic necessities for the elderly and discussions on developments in AIDS cases, held in Kelambir V Village East Market Gardens I, Hamparanperak District, Deliserdang Regency, North Sumatra, Sunday (24/12/2023).

According to Achmad Ramadhan, AIDS is a result of the condition of the HIV virus (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) which is a virus that can weaken the body’s immune system and at the final stage of infection, symptoms called AIDS will appear. When someone has AIDS, the body no longer has the ability to fight the infection it causes. The impact resulted in tragic death.Chairman of REKAN Indonesia, Iko Riansyah, cuts tumpeng rice to mark the 12th anniversary of the Indonesian Health Volunteers

Lifestyle

A healthy lifestyle in accordance with health regulations, especially adhering to religious values, is the most important part to implement in life in order to avoid this very dangerous disease.

It is important to recognize the early signs of HIV infection so you can immediately get the right treatment. Some common signs of HIV symptoms that appear in the early stages are mouth ulcers, headaches, fatigue, sore throat, loss of appetite, muscle aches, rashes, swollen lymph nodes and night sweats.

Ramadhan said that various efforts had been made by the government to prevent the development of the HIV virus as a precursor to the emergence of AIDS. The North Sumatra AIDS Prevention Commission (KPA) continuously gives advice to the public, especially young people, to continue to be enthusiastic about avoiding the spread of this disease.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the North Sumatra Indonesian Health Volunteers (REKAN), Iko Riansyah, said that he supports what the North Sumatra KPA is doing, so that North Sumatra in particular and Indonesia in general can be free from AIDS cases in line with the spirit of building a healthy country.

“The hope is that the government should provide space and support for young people by supporting various steps taken positively, especially by volunteers who work selflessly and with financial resources, so that the enthusiasm of young people in supporting a healthy Indonesian society can run according to expectations,” said Iko.
