12,600 doses of the first component of the Sputnik V vaccine arrived in the province – Ministry of Public Health of Tucumán

The Minister of Public Health, Dr. Rossana Chahla, led the reception of immunizations this Monday at the facilities of the Siprosa Central Depot. The units that arrived in 21 conservatives of 600 doses each, come to continue to comply with the vaccination of people over 70 years of age that is currently being carried out and which is soon to be completed in 12 departments of the interior.

On the date, in addition, vaccination was launched at the Hippodrome for people under 60 years of age with type 1 diabetes who are insulin-dependent.

«These 12,600 doses are a reason for great joy because they are to continue vaccinating patients over 70 years of age. The province already has more than 106,000 doses placed and that is very important to be able to face this second wave, since as we know there is an increase in cases throughout the province and in neighboring neighboring provinces and countries, ”said Chahla.

Regarding the vaccination of people over 70 years of age, the official commented that in the interior of the province the campaign is close to ending in several departments. «There are 12 departments in which it is practically ending, we already know what day we have the last shift and we are going to continue with the great San Miguel de Tucumán, where there are more patients of this age. The idea is to continue programming and planning to scale up vaccination to other sectors ”, he stated.

Regarding the care measures that must continue to be taken to prevent the contagion of Covid-19, the minister explained that border control is becoming stricter and measures that have to do with the entry of people, especially from Brazil, are being deepened. , since special care must be taken at present with the entry of new strains.

«Controls are going to be strengthened in those places with rapid antigen tests and measures will be taken that have to do with the control of parties and compliance with the protocol. We had the experience of two groups that came on a trip of graduates with a large number of infected and that is why it is very important to reinforce the recommendations, “he said while emphasizing that the government calls for citizen responsibility in compliance with the recommendations and protocols by all areas and institutions.

«The Health System cannot fulfill the role of police, it is not a power that we have and we do not have that capacity since we are engaged in all other fronts that have to do with vaccination, the care of Covid patients, care in feverish guards. That is why we appeal to citizen responsibility and to those responsible for each sector who have the power to enforce each of the protocols, “he said.

Regarding the occupancy levels of hospital beds, the minister said that Tucumán is at an occupancy rate of 40 percent, of which many are patients with social coverage who choose the public health system for their care.

Finally, with regard to the concern for those who have already managed their shifts and were postponed due to waiting for the doses, the head of the health portfolio was reassured: «I want to tell all citizens to stay calm, the shifts assigned to the vaccination will be fulfilled and with this amount of vaccines that we receive, we will be able to sustain the population over 70 years of age who had already taken their shifts ».
