126 people died when a boat carrying 450 passengers sank on Lake Kivu in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, Zakon.kz reports.
The accident happened on October 3 on the way to the port of Goma. Only 45 people are known to have been rescued, and the rest are listed as missing.
As foreign media write, traders were on board carrying food products.
Local authorities said they would be able to announce the exact number of victims only after the search for bodies was completed.
Witnesses captured horrific footage of the crash. The video is being circulated on social networks.
