The Christmas donation campaign in the E-Center Offenburg has been going on for 23 years now, and every year new record sums are raised for the association for children with cancer in Freiburg, according to the Edeka Südwest press release. Franz Bährund his team of many volunteers as well as trainees and students from Edeka Südwest work every year to collect as much money as possible for a good cause in the run-up to Christmas. “The donation goes one-to-one to the friends ‘association for children with cancer in Freiburg, which then uses the money for various projects related to the Freiburg University Children’s Cancer Clinic,” explains Franz Bähr and adds: “The friends’ association is currently building a new home next to the new building Children’s clinic. ” In addition to the sale of donation cards, in which more than 100 prizes provided by Edeka Südwest, its production companies and suppliers were raffled off among all participants, there were other campaigns: a Christmas basket to go to pre-order goods from Edeka Südwest and its production companies as well as other suppliers , a special sale of Schwarzwald-Sprudel, a fruit special sale and a wish tree with Christmas wishes from the children from the children’s cancer clinic. The proceeds from the sale of donation cards as well as the income from all campaigns will be donated to the friends’ association. According to Edeka, since the first Christmas donation campaign in 1998, a total of around 2.45 million euros in donations have been collected.
The association for children with cancer in Freiburg im Breisgau, founded in 1980, has set itself the task of supporting affected parents in looking after their children and improving the chances of recovery for children with cancer by financing staff and medical aids.
