On the two-year birthday of the Riga Zoo giraffe Vakilija, animal lovers have donated 1250 euros.
Feeding these exotic animals in zoos is specific and expensive, as their diet requires special feed pellets, alfalfa powder and mineral additives.
The special additives that a lady giraffe receives as a basic feed are willow twigs, alfalfa hay and rolled oats. So far, 1250 euros have been donated. This allows you to make Vacil’s lunch delicious and tempting for at least a month. Of course, the giraffe hopes for the support of the benefactors in the future.
To make the animal more interesting, the zoo staff provided an unusual ball, which was filled with a fragrant alfalfa wall and twigs.
Vacilia in July canceled from Austria and has already made friends with his commoners. On sunny days, the giraffe sometimes goes outside to the paddock, although it feels safer in the shed at the Giraffe House, where he is happy to greet visitors.
