SUBMISSION OF PROPOSALS HAS BEEN STARTED
After the cooperation of the Minister of Rural Development & Food Lefteri Avgenakis with the competent Deputy Minister Dionysis Stamenitis, was issued on 03/01/2024 with the signature of the General Secretary of Union Resources and Infrastructure of the Ministry of Rural Development & Food,Dimitris O. Papagiannidis, call for proposals in its context Action 4.3.1: “Local Improvement Infrastructures” of the “Agricultural Development of Greece 2014-2020” Program.
The action is co-financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Greek State with a rate of 100%.
The total budget of the invitation amounts to 124.000.000,00 €.
Beneficiaries for the submission of the relevant proposals are: a) the Directorate of Sanitary Improvements and Soil Water Resources of the HYPAAT, b) the Directorate of Flood Protection and Soil Improvement Projects of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and c) the Regions of the Country.
As he stated the Minister of Rural Development and Food Lefteris Avgenakis, “Action 4.3.1. it is announced in a critical period for water management, since the climate crisis has direct effects on this issue. With the land improvement projects that will be carried out, we want to enhance the efficiency of Greek land, save water and reduce production costs, increasing the competitiveness of Greek products”.
With the appropriations of this transitional call, projects will be financed with a budget over €2.2 million (including VAT) which concern: improvement or increase of irrigated areas, saving of winter runoff (reservoirs, dams), improvement of the energy efficiency of irrigation infrastructures, use of recycled water in irrigation and artificial enrichment of groundwater in network renovation from drilling.
The projects to be financed achieve the reduction of losses and the application of highly efficient irrigation methods, the use of alternative water sources, the retention of winter runoff and its disposal during the summer months, the treatment of warming problems and the restoration of problematic underground water systems , the better management of water abstraction and the reduction of pressures from agriculture on both underground and surface water bodies. In this way, the efficiency of the use of irrigation water increases and the competitiveness of Greek agriculture improves.
The Invitation is communicated to the beneficiaries and posted on the websites of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, www.agrotikianaptixi.gr and www.minagric.gr as well as on the ESPA website www.espa.gr.
The support application is submitted exclusively electronically through the Integrated Information System for Rural Development – O.P.S.A.A. (www.opsaa.gr/RDIIS), accompanied by the required supporting documents / documents.
THE online submission start date of the proposals to OPSAA, is 04/01/2024 and the expiration date is 09/02/2024.
