123 migrants have been freed from a locked truck trailer in Mexico. The group was found in the state’s Matehuala town San Luis Potosim in central Mexico.

People in the city heard cries for help coming from the truck, after which the police were called. According to local authorities, this concerns 89 adults and 34 minors. They have been sheltered and given medical help and food.

The migrants come from several Central and South American countries. Mexico is a transit country for many migrants on their way to the United States, where they hope for a better life.
