121 cases this Wednesday and the outbreaks continue to rise

The province of Salamanca adds 121 new cases of coronavirus this Wednesday, a figure higher than that of this past Tuesday -when 84 positives were detected-, but slightly lower than that of a week ago -139 infected- and, above all, to the Wednesday 14 days ago -270 infected, the record for this fifth wave. This week-on-week decrease means that the cumulative incidence at 7 and 14 days will decrease, a fundamental factor for the Board not to implement more restrictions and for the new ones to be reversed in the future. Since the beginning of the pandemic, back in March 2020, Salamanca has detected 35,792 infected with coronavirus through diagnostic tests.

The positive news of this day is once again that the University Hospital of Salamanca has not counted any more deaths as a result of the disease, so there are already three consecutive days without COVID-19 deaths. Since the origin of the health crisis, the capital’s healthcare center has registered 813 deaths, the last three between Friday and Sunday of last week.

In the last 24 hours, four COVID-19 patients admitted to the hospital have been discharged. There are already 4,171 patients recovered since March 2020.

Outbreaks go from 88 to 103, also assuming an increase in associated cases to 439.
