/ world today news/ On average, 1,200 counterfeit banknotes in BGN and foreign currency are recognized and detained by the National Analysis Center of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) every month.
This is shown by calculations based on the database of our central bank for the fake banknotes seized on the territory of the country, writes in. “Monitor”.
14,575 is the total number of counterfeit banknotes in BGN and foreign currency that were seized by the BNB analysis center last year, i.e. is. about 1,214 fake bills per month.
In 2011 more counterfeit euro and dollar banknotes have been caught in our country. They were a total of 11,323, which is nearly 78% of all detained mentees. The seized counterfeits of the Bulgarian banknotes were 2,860 in total.
The 20 and 50 BGN notes are the most frequently counterfeited, according to data from our central bank. There were 1,796 counterfeit twenties caught last year. Then it also became clear that three types of copies were offered in our country for BGN 20. The fakes were not of high quality and were easily recognized. Mints were easy to catch when compared to a real twenty-pin.
Last year, there were a total of 816 counterfeit 50 BGN bills caught. Counterfeit 2, 5 and 10 BGN bills were caught much less often.
However, compared to 2010 there has been a significant drop in the number of counterfeit banknotes that the BNB analysis center has registered and stopped from circulation. The data show that 16,796 counterfeit banknotes in BGN and foreign currency were seized at that time. This is 13.22 percent more than last year.
