The Agatha Christie Week festival opens today.
In Great Britain, today they will celebrate the 120th anniversary of the birth of one of the most successful authors of detective novels – Agatha Christie, KROSS Information Agency reported.
Today is the opening of the festival “Agatha Christie Week”. All over the country there are tours of the places where both Christie herself and her characters were, as well as mystery tours and detective tours.
Dame Agatha Marie Clarissa Christie is an English writer, the author of numerous short stories, novels, novels and crime dramas. She was born on September 15, 1890. She studied singing in Paris, worked as a nurse. She married Archibald Christie in 1914 and spent the entire First World War in France. He wrote his first crime novel in 1917 (“The Mysterious Affair at Stiles”, published in 1920).
Following the traditions of Edgar Allan Poe, Arthur Conan Doyle and Chesterton, he created more than 87 novels and many short stories, in which the main characters are the old lady Miss Marple, Mr. Quinn, Parker Pine, Tommy and Tuppence, but the most popular is the Belgian Hercule Poirot . Agatha Christie died on January 12, 1976.
